The principle of snowcooling

In short, snowcooling concerns the storage of winter cold as snow and/or ice to the warmer parts of the year, and then to use the snow/ice for different cooling purposes. Snowcooling is possible at locations with enough snow precipitation and where it is possible to produce snow. Snow production is fast and relatively cheap.

The snow/ice is stored in a pond, underground or in some other way, and the cooling is extracted by circulating the cold carrier (normally water) through the snow.
