The winners of the international competition "Practical solutions to combat climate change" were announced February 1st in Turku during a sustainability conference. The competition, aimed at the Baltic Sea region and the Nordic countries, was looking for new or as of yet unestablished business concepts, practices and technologies to assist municipalities and other local and regional actors to better control the effects of climate change. First prize was shared by the collaboration between Snowpower AB and the local council of Västernorrland in Sweden, and the City of Tampere from Finland.
