Snowpower AB

Snowpower AB is a new energy company based in Luleå, Sweden. We offer our knowledge and experience whether you want to buy cooling, want to build your own snowcooling plant or if you will let us build it for you. Together with our partners we have capacity to serve all existing cooling needs.

History

Snowcooling is an ancient technique that is now being revived in a modern costume. In the early 20th century ice was stored in heaps and delivered with horse and cart, today we store snow in a pond or underground and deliver the chill in pipes. When The County Council of Västernorrland, Sweden, was looking for a new cooling system the choice fell on snowcooling.

Today the project leader Per-Erik Larsson is very proud of his plant, which is being continuously improved and operates more and more efficiently. The principal design was conceived by Professor Bo Nordell at the Luleå University of Technology, where Kjell Skogsberg got his Ph.D. in 2005. Kjell Skogsberg is one of the founders of Snowpower AB, together with Henrik G Forsström and ETK Investments AB. Mr Larsson and Professor Nordell are members of the Advisory Council of Snowcooling AB.
